Tri-National International Friendly: Nepal Takes on Chinese Taipei Tonight

Muna Karki / RSS Indonesia, Dec 2: Nepal will clash with Chinese Taipei in today’s match of the ongoing Tri-National International Friendly Football Tournament, scheduled to start at 7:30 pm local time.

In the FIFA women’s rankings, Nepal holds the 42nd position while Chinese Taipei is ranked 89th. Chinese Taipei, a former powerhouse in Asian women’s football, won the AFC Women’s Asian Cup consecutively in 1977, 1979, and 1981, having first participated in the International Women’s Championship in 1977. Nepal, on the other hand, has been participating in international tournaments since 1986 and has competed in the Asian Cup, though limited to group-stage matches.

Nepal’s head coach, Nabin Neupane, expressed confidence that the team would deliver an excellent performance and secure a win. Team captain Anjila Tumbapo Subba added that the squad is physically and mentally prepared to take on Chinese Taipei.

In the ongoing series, Nepal started with a loss against Indonesia in the first match on November 26, and today’s game is crucial for bouncing back.
