Home Minister Gurung tables three ordinances
Kathmandu: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has presented three ordinances in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR). It is the first meeting under the first session of the lower house of the federal parliament, HoR.

The presented ordinances are ‘Citizenship (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2082’, ‘House of Representatives Member Election (First Amendment) Ordinance, 2082’ and ‘Nepal Special Service (Third Amendment) Ordinance, 2082’.
Laws were amended from ordinances for the reservation of the population that should be included in the closed list of the proportional representation in accordance with Article 84 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
The erstwhile government had introduced the ‘House of Representatives Member Election (First Amendment) Ordinance’ to update the voters’ name list after the announcement of the HoR election for March 5. On the occasion, Home Minister Gurung shared that the ‘Nepal Special Service (Third Amendment) Ordinance’ was issued to keep the National Investigation Department under the Home Ministry from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
The meeting also passed a condolence motion on the demise of former lawmakers—Rishikesh Gautam, Mohammad Aftab Alam, Krishna Kumari Shrestha, Amod Prasad Upadhyay, Homnath Dahal and National Assembly member Baldev Bohara, who died at different times.
The HoR will meet next at 11:00 am on April 5.
