PM Karki Assures Gen-Z Protesters: “No Compromise on Martyrs’ Families’ Demands”

Kathmandu, Nov 21: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has reaffirmed that the government will fully address the demands of Gen-Z protesters and families of those who lost their lives in the movement, stressing that their concerns will not be compromised.

In a meeting held at Singha Durbar today with three groups representing Gen-Z protesters, families of martyrs, and injured demonstrators, the Prime Minister said that discussions with the movement have reached the final stage.

“A formal conclusion will be reached after consultations with the President,” she said. “The government will not compromise on the demands of Gen-Z martyrs’ families and protesters. Rest assured—your concerns will be fulfilled.”

During the meeting, the groups strongly pressed the government to sign the agreement without delay, take swift action against those responsible for oppression, and prevent attempts of a counter-revolution.

Prime Minister Karki urged the representatives to also recognize that the government must operate within its constitutional and legal boundaries on certain issues. She encouraged them to prepare for meaningful political engagement, including participation in upcoming elections, and to pursue transformative change through peaceful and democratic means.
