Nepal should learn from China’s development: Speaker Ghimire
Kathmandu, Nov 21: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has said Nepal should take lessons from China’s remarkable political, economic, and social progress, highlighting the importance of stability and long-term planning for national development.
Speaking at the launch of the book ‘Chiniya Dristikon’ (Chinese Perspective) by Chetnath Acharya on Friday, the Speaker praised China’s consistent political system and well-defined development strategies. He said Nepal must explore deeper partnership avenues with China to accelerate its own development journey.
Ghimire warned that prolonged political instability could push Nepal toward crisis, underscoring the need for steady leadership and clear policy direction.
At the event, several experts shared their views on the book. Former Chief Secretary and former Ambassador to China Leelamani Poudyal described the publication as a valuable compilation of China’s development approaches. Prof. Dr. Yubaraj Sangraula stressed that Nepal should intensify cooperation with China, especially in efforts aimed at poverty reduction.
Zhang Yue (Pro Barsha) from China said the historical bond between Nepal and China has always been positive and that the relationship holds great promise for the future.
Author Acharya noted that China’s policy outlook has been drawing global attention, and Nepal should study these perspectives more comprehensively. Acharya has been working as a foreign expert with the Nepali Service of the China Media Group (CMG) in Beijing for the past 12 years.
