Heavy snowfall disrupts Mustang roads, Nilgiri peaks blanketed

October 29, Kathmandu: Heavy snowfall has covered various parts of the Mustang district since early Wednesday morning. The Charang-Lho Manthang road section has experienced disrupted vehicular movement due to the intense snow, according to local police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Tshiring Kippa Lama reported that the Thurlungphant to Lho Manthang stretch is particularly affected by the massive snowfall, hindering mobility.

Security personnel at the Nhechung Border Out Post cleared snow along the Chhoser-Korala road section on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Kagbeni to Muktinath road, previously blocked, has reopened. While mountain areas face heavy snow, lower regions have seen rainfall.
