NTB launches ‘Tourism Insights’
Kathmandu: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) launched a monthly digital publication titled ‘Tourism Insights’ that features vital statistics, market trends and global perspectives.
The platform will provide accurate, timely and fact-based information to policy-makers, tourism entrepreneurs and researches thereby contributing to strengthening Nepal’s tourism recovery and resilience.
The digital publication was unveiled on last Sunday amid a programme themed ‘Current Status of Tourism and Strategies for Revival’ in the presence of representatives and heads of various tourism-based organizations.
Kabindra Bhatta, Officer at the NTB’s Research Department, shared that the publication includes detailed information on visitors, key source markets, sectoral arrival, foreign exchange revenue and foreign direct investments among others.
Bhatta added that it also incorporates insights and data from the international agencies and organizations such as the United Nations Tourism Organization and World Travel and Tourism Council among others.
Deepakraj Joshi, CEO of the Board, expressed his confidence that the ‘Tourism Insights’ will offer essential statistics and strategic guidelines to lead Nepal’s tourism sectors towards sustainable development.
Likewise, Narendra Dev Bhatta, General-Secretary of the Pacific Asia Travel Association’s Nepal chapter, emphasized a long-term strategy to safeguard tourism sector during the crisis.
Similarly, Binayak Shah, President of the Hotel Association of Nepal, highlighted the challenges persisting in the hospitality sector of the county and called for collective efforts to address them.
