On Air Station:

We will use all state resources to protect citizens from risk: PM Karki

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that all state resources will be used to protect citizens from risks during this time of disaster.

Addressing the citizens via video message today, the Prime Minister stated that in view of the continuous heavy rainfall across the country since the evening of October 3, all state agencies have been deployed and urged everyone to follow necessary safety instructions and to stay safe.

Prime Minister Karki has appealed to the citizens to remain safe and cautious as continuous rainfall is expected for another two days according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

‘We are at high risk of floods, landslides and erosion, with landslide risks in many areas. Government agencies have been working around the clock with high morale for rescue and relief. Highways and other infrastructure are being actively monitored. Stay safe where you are and inspire others to stay safe. Do not move around, do not drive, and work only by giving high priority to safety after assessing the risks,’ she said.

PM Karki also mentioned that due to the risk, the government declared a public holiday throughout the country on Sunday and Monday, and requested everyone to act according to the information issued by the police and other government agencies.
