Mustang Customs Office collects Rs 1.37 billion in revenue
Mustang, Sept 27: The Mustang Customs Office located at Lomanthang has collected Rs 1.37 billion in revenue in the first two months of the current fiscal year.
The Department of Customs had brought the Korala Check Point in the district as an alternative trade route after the landslides and flooding obstructed the Rasuwagadi and Tatopani check points. Chief of the Mustang Customs Office Ramesh Khadka shared that the Korala checkpoint had come into full operation from September 15, and there were remarkable improvements in revenue collection within two weeks of its operation.
During the period, 769 vehicles and goods-loaded containers were already sent towards the destinations after customs clearance, he added. Khadka stated that handicrafts and local products were exported to China from Nepal during the period. It is said that the Office would remain open during the Dashain holiday except for the day of the Bijaya Dashami.
