Tourism Board requests diplomatic missions to relax travel advisories
Kathmandu, Sept 27: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has urged different diplomatic missions based in Nepal to relax travel advisories issued by various countries for their citizens to visit Nepal.
During a ‘Meet and Greet with Diplomatic Corps, organised in Kathmandu on the occasion of Dashain, Chief Executive Officer of NTB, Deepak Raj Joshi, shared that Nepal has now returned to normalcy and it is completely safe for tourists to visit. Earlier, different embassies in Kathmandu had issued travel advisories, cautioning their citizens to follow safety measures while visiting Nepal after the Gen-Z protests held on September 8 and 9.
Ambassadors and representatives of more than 15 countries and the high-ranking officials of the government of Nepal were present at the programme organised on the eve of World Tourism Day. “There is no problem in political stability and security, and tourist police have returned to their service. Roads, airports, transport services, and hospitals have already started providing their services after the formation of the new government,” Joshi added.
He also requested all to play a role in making positive impacts on Nepal’s tourism in the international community. Similarly, NTB Vice-President Ram Prasad Sapkota said Nepal is ready to welcome tourists and urged the diplomats to disseminate messages to their countries stating that Nepal is open and safe.
