Nepal-US relations based on trust and enduring friendship: Foreign Minister Dr Rana

September 4, Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has stated that the relationship between Nepal and the United States is rooted in trust, enduring, and historic.

Speaking at a ceremony held today in Kathmandu to hand over two Sky Trucks (helicopters) provided by the United States to the Nepali Army, Minister Dr. Rana described the assistance as a symbol of the lasting friendship and cooperation between Nepal and the US.

She highlighted that the United States has been a reliable partner and friend to Nepal, supporting democratic governance, humanitarian aid, disaster management, peacekeeping, and capacity building.

Minister Dr. Rana emphasised that Nepal’s friendship and collaboration with the US have always been dedicated to peace, stability, and human service, expressing gratitude to the US government and its people for their continuous support. Dr. Rana also praised the Nepali Army for its unwavering dedication, discipline, and commitment to nation, global peace, and security.

During the ceremony, US Ambassador Dean R. Thompson handed over the Sky Trucks to Foreign Minister Dr. Rana, Defence Minister Manbir Rai, and Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel. The Ambassador said these Sky Trucks can be utilised for disaster response, rescue operations, and as air ambulances.
