One house collapsed, 13 livestock dead in Baitadi landslide

Baitadi, Aug 31: A landslide coupled with heavy rain happened at Chaupata of Sunarya Rural Municipality-2 in Baitadi district, burying a house on Sunday afternoon.

A two-storied house of Girish Chand was damaged by the landslide, Police Inspector Balaram Pandey said. According to Pandey, 90-year-old Godawari Chand was critically hurt in the incident. Buried inside the house after the landslide, the nonagenarian was rushed to the district hospital.

The doctors referred her to Dadeldhura Hospital for further treatment. Likewise, 13 animals, including cows and goats, were also killed in the landslide.
