PM Oli Visits Special Rice Production Area in Tianjin
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is currently in Tianjin to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, visited a special rice production zone in Huai Gaon village on Saturday.
During the visit, Prime Minister Oli observed the cultivation process of JD 939 rice seeds and took stock of various pilot projects implemented in the region. These initiatives are aimed at integrating agriculture, tourism, and education to promote sustainable development in rural areas.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by First Lady Radhika Shakya and a high-level delegation, including Member of the House of Representatives Purna Bahadur Khadka; Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Panta; Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey; and former Finance Minister and Economic Development Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada.
Also present were former Minister and Member of Parliament Chhabilal Bishwakarma, Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, Nepali Ambassador to China Dr. Krishna Prasad Oli, and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song, among other officials.
The visit highlighted Nepal’s interest in learning from China’s advancements in agricultural innovation and rural revitalization.
