Kathmandu, Aug 30: Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged the State to effectively search for the missing people along with other necessary related actions.

In a message he gave on the occasion of the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances today, Prachanda paid respect to the disappeared persons and urged the Commission of Investigation on Enforced Disappeared Persons to immediately search for the missing persons and to make their status public.

Recalling the remarkable contribution of the enforced disappeared persons for the establishment of the federal democratic republic, Chairman Dahal urged the government to provide proper respect, service, facilities, and benefits to the families of the missing persons.

“On this occasion, I draw the government’s attention to the immediate implementation of the provisions of Clause 5(2) (5) of the Comprehensive Peace Accord, Article 33 of Nepal’s Interim Constitution-2063, and the provisions of Article 304(2) of the Constitution,” the Maoist Centre Chair said.
