Two die in separate accidents, two go missing

Khalanga (Darchula), Sept 1: An 11-year-old girl died, and two others went missing when an auto-rickshaw met accident and fell into the Naugadh River at Shaukebagar of Naugadh rural municipality-5 today.

The District Police Office confirmed the death of Aruna Dhami in the accident. Office information officer and police inspector Chhatra Bahadur Rawat said two others have gone missing in the river.

The vehicle (Ma 1 Ha 1148) was en route to Dhuligadha from Hoparigadh when it met the fatal accident. The identities of the missing people are yet to be ascertained. As of the filing of this news story, police squads have already reached the accident site to search for the missing.

Following the accident, police have taken the auto-rickshaw driver, Maniram Bhul, under control for further investigation. His 17-year-old son was also injured. A total of five people, including Bhul, were in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, one person died when a bus and a motorcycle collided in Chitwan today.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the bus (Ga 1 Kha 4140) heading to Lamjung from Narayangadh and the motorcycle (Ga 12 Pa 6992) coming from the opposite direction collided each other.

The motorcyclist was severely injured and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, said Office information officer Rabindra Khanal.
