Vice President of Vietnam arrives in Nepal for historic three-day visit
August 23, Kathmandu: Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, arrived in Kathmandu today for a three-day official visit to Nepal, marking the first-ever high-level engagement from Vietnam to the country.
The visit, from the 23-25 of August, is at the friendly invitation of Nepal’s Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav.
Upon her arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Vice President Xuan was welcomed by Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey.
A ceremonial Guard of Honour by the Nepal Army was inspected by the visiting Vice President in the VVIP lounge.The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that delegation-level bilateral talks between Vice President Yadav and Vice President Xuan are scheduled for Sunday in Kathmandu.
During her visit, Vice President Xuan will also pay courtesy calls on President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
This visit holds special significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Vietnam, underscoring the strengthening of ties between the two nations. Vice President Xuan is set to depart Nepal on August 25 after concluding her visit.
