Party membership renewal cannot be banned: Former President Bhandari
Kathmandu: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed dissatisfaction over the CPN UML’s central committee meeting decision to bar the renewal of her party membership.
Bhandari held a press conference in Kathmandu today and claimed that the CPN UML’s Central Committee Meeting decision to bar her from active politics by blocking her membership renewal was not valid and mature, as it had been 45 years since he had joined the party.
Former President Bhandari said the party’s recent decision is unacceptable, stating that it would harm the party’s reputation and prestige.
Stating that thousands of warriors and members, including herself, had shed their blood and sweat to build the CPN-UML, former President Bhandari clarified that she did not become president by leaving the party and became a party member according to the procedure.
