Government will expedite efforts to resolve problems with declaration of Madhesh Province as Crisis hit Zone

kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that with the declaration of Madhesh Province as a disaster-prone area, the government will expedite efforts to resolve the problems in the region.

Unveiling yesterday’s cabinet meeting decisions at the ministry today, Communications Minister Gurung said that with the decision to declare the entire Madhesh province as a disaster-hit area for a period of three months, work will be done at a rapid pace to resolve the drinking water and irrigation problems seen in the area.

Similarly, also Government spokesperson Minister Gurung said the cabinet has decided to designate Rukumkot, located in Wards 5 and 6 of Sisne Rural Municipality, as the headquarters of Rukum East District.

Similarly, the Cabinet meeting has decided to accept a loan of 100 million US dollars from the OPEC Fund for International Development for the implementation of the South Asia Sub-regional Economic Cooperation Electricity Transmission and Distribution Project.
