Seminar explores higher education and career opportunities in UAE

July 8, Kathmandu: A seminar was held in the hall of GATE College in Kathmandu on Tuesday, titled “Exploring the UAE: A Destination for Higher Education and Technology.”

Jointly organised by the college and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Kathmandu, the seminar saw students of the college learn more about higher education and even employment opportunities in different cities of the UAE.

Addressing the program, UAE Ambassador to Nepal, Abdualla Al-Shamsi, said that the UAE and Nepal are both countries with vibrant cultures and strong traditions, heritage, and values. The Ambassador emphasised that collaborations in education and employment would further strengthen the friendly ties between the two countries.

A special presentation was shown regarding education opportunities for Nepali students in the UAE, particularly in esteemed universities such as Khalifa University (Abu Dhabi), University of Fujairah, University of Sharjah (Sharjah), United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) (Al Ain, Abu Dhabi), and American University in Dubai (Dubai).

These institutions are renowned for their globally recognised programs in engineering, business, technology, and hospitality, offering scholarships and diverse academic pathways for international students, including those from Nepal.

The Chief Executive Officer of GATE College, Khem R. Lakai, noted that the UAE is a top destination for Nepali hospitality students for internships and careers in hospitality, highlighting the practical opportunities available in the UAE’s thriving tourism and service sectors.
