Both Houses of Parliament meeting today

 

Kathmandu, July 8: Both Houses of the federal parliament are meeting today.

Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Raghuji Panta, is scheduled to present a proposal, seeking consideration on ‘Bill relating to Tilganga University of Ophthalmology, 2081’ in the meeting of the House of Representatives that begins at 1:00 pm. The Bill was initially produced in the upper house, the National Assembly.

Similarly, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will be presenting a proposal, seeking consideration on ‘Constitutional Council Bill (Duty, Rights and Work Procedure) (first amendment)’. The Bill was also amended by the National Assembly. Related ministers are scheduled to respond to the lawmakers’ queries raised on the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Energy and Irrigation.

The upper House is meeting at 1:15 pm, where the Minister for Education will respond to the queries related to his ministry. Chairman of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, Maya Prasad Sharma, is presenting a proposal, seeking consideration on ‘A Study Report on Implementation Status of Delegated Legislation, 2081’prepared under the Tribhuvan University Act, 2049.

Moreover, Minister for Energy, Dipak Khadka, will be presenting a proposal, seeking consideration on ‘Water Resources Bill, 2081’ in the upper House. The Bill was received by the Upper House from the House of Representatives.
