Health Ministry for treatment to those injured in people’s movements
Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population, Pradip Paudel, has decided to ensure treatment to those injured during people’s movements- armed revolution, people’s movement and Madhesh movement.
The Minister took the initiative to cover the treatment cost of those injured in various movements by assigning public hospitals. Although the injured ones were receiving treatment from the State fund, full treatment for them was not provided due to a budget crunch.
After the Minister endorsed a work procedure to reimburse the hospitals for the treatment cost of the injured ones, it is expected to be a sustainable measure. Even those who received injuries in the earthquake would be provided with this service.
All government and community hospitals will be obliged to provide the treatment as per the work procedure. The document facilitates the process for reimbursement to the health facilities.
The ministry allocated budget for this cause in the next fiscal year, beginning soon.
Ministry spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki informed that with the endorsement of the work procedure, the problems facing the people injured in various moments and disasters would be resolved.
