PM Oli calls on Nepali diaspora in Spain to return and contribute to national development
Madrid (Spain): Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli held an interaction with officials and representatives of the Nepali Diaspora Forum in Madrid, Spain on Wednesday night.
The meeting took place at the residence of the Nepali Ambassador to Spain, following PM Oli’s participation in the United Nations Financing for Development Conference in Seville.
During the interaction, members of the UML-affiliated forum welcomed and honored Prime Minister Oli, expressing their best wishes for Nepal’s ongoing journey toward development and prosperity under his leadership.
Prime Minister Oli urged members of the diaspora to consider returning to Nepal and applying their skills, experience, and capital gained abroad to contribute to the country’s development. He emphasized the importance of utilizing their knowledge in meaningful ways for national progress.
He further explained that the current coalition government was formed in collaboration with two major parties to ensure political stability and sustained development. PM Oli reaffirmed his commitment to hand over leadership to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in line with the agreement reached between them.
Recalling past efforts to provide political solutions during challenging times, PM Oli assured that the current coalition would continue to work in unity and resolve any issues that arise. He dismissed external speculations about internal disputes, stating that there were no problems within the coalition or his party.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister’s Chief Advisor and UML Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Nepali Ambassador to Spain Shanil Nepal, Hem Sherpa (Secretary of the International Committee and Head of the Organization Department of the Nepali Forum), European Continent Committee Coordinator Mukt Bahadur Gurung, Spain Forum Chairman Kedar Dhungana, Madrid Committee Chairman Shivaraj Sigdel, and Portugal Chairman Deepak Chhetri.
