Mishra arrested for involving in Karnali Development Bank embezzlement
Nepalgunj, July 2: Police have nabbed Pashupati Dayal Mishra in connection with the Karnali Development Bank embezzlement.
The Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police arrested Mishra from Dhamboji Chowk in Nepalgunj and brought him to the District Police Office in Banke, said CIB Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson Yubraj Khadka. Khadka added that Mishra was arrested for his involvement in the embezzlement at Nepalgunj-based Karnali Development Bank.
Mishra was Chairperson of the Bank from 2066 BS to 2075 BS. He is now a central committee member of the CPN (UML). With this, the number of people arrested for their connection to the fraud has reached three. Earlier, the finance head, Dev Prakash Singh Thakuri and the founding chairperson of the Bank, Rajendra Bir Ray, were arrested. A case has been filed over the embezzlement of Rs 2.50 billion from the bank.
