Nepal defeats Japan by 9 wickets in ACC U-16 East Zone Cup

Kathmandu: Nepal registered a dominant 9-wicket victory over Japan in the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup cricket tournament.

Chasing a target of 81 runs, Nepal reached the total in just 14.2 overs, losing only one wicket. Prasidhha Jaishi scored 33 runs, while Shivans Bajgain remained unbeaten on 38, guiding Nepal to a comfortable win.

Earlier, Japan won the toss and opted to bat first, managing only 80 runs in 34 overs before being bowled out. Captain Charlie Harahinghe was the top scorer with 36 runs, while Gabi Harahinghe contributed 13. No other batsman reached double figures.

Nepal’s bowling attack was led by Shubham Khanal, who took five wickets. Abhay Yadav claimed two, while Sushil Rawal and Bipin Prasad Sharma took one wicket each.
