Civil Service Bill nears completion as cabinet unveils major decisions

Kathmandu: Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, announced that the Civil Service Bill is now in its final stages. Speaking at a press conference organized at the Ministry to share the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting held on Monday, Minister Gurung, who also serves as the government spokesperson, stated that the bill will move forward once the State Affairs Committee submits its report.

Among the key decisions made during the meeting, the Cabinet approved Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official visit to Spain, scheduled from June 30 to July 5.

Minister Gurung was also granted approval to participate in the World Summit on the Information Society and the AI for Good Global Summit, both set to take place in Geneva from July 7 and July 11.

In addition, the government has decided to accept loan assistance of Rs 20.79 billion from the World Bank and grant assistance of approximately Rs 190 million from the South Korean government. The funding will support an inclusive rural development project in Bardiya district.

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved Nepal’s membership in the International Big Cat Alliance, reaffirming its commitment to wildlife conservation.
