Massive fire in Bamka Bazaar causes over Rs 190 million in damages


Bajura: Preliminary assessments reveal that a devastating fire that broke out on Friday afternoon in Bamka Bazaar, located in Budhiganga Municipality-6 in Bajura, has caused damages exceeding 196 million rupees.

According to Budhiganga Municipality Mayor Ram Bahadur Baniya, a total of 20 shops were completely destroyed while 14 others sustained partial damage.

The fire has left a significant portion of the local market in ruins, prompting urgent calls for aid and support.

In response, the Sudurpaschim Province government has pledged 4 million rupees in relief for the affected individuals.

Budhiganga Municipality and other neighboring municipalities have also has promised relief amounts. Relief contributions from other agencies are also being mobilized.

Efforts are ongoing to gather more detailed assessments of the damage and to provide immediate assistance to those affected.
