Nepali Congress condemns misleading news

Kathmandu, May 22: The Nepali Congress has expressed its concern over the misleading and fabricated news published about the monarchy, claiming to be the opinion of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba.

The Congress condemned and refuted the fake news in a press release today. “It is immoral and highly objectionable for someone to disseminate fake information in the media to fulfill short-term interests. It is against the essence and spirit of journalism to deliberately misuse the mass media to publicise statements that are not true,” the release states.

Refuting and condemning the misleading and fabricated news, the party’s Chief Secretary, Krishna Prasad Poudel, has urged the general public not to believe such news while reiterating the party’s commitment to protecting the achievements made by the popular movement.
