National Cricketer Lamichhane decides to opt out of CAN central contract
Kathmandu, May 14: Nepali national cricket team member Sandeep Lamichhane has announced that he would not like to remain in the central contract of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).
Lamichhane made his decision public through his social media account today. He has however said that this decision is ‘not a step away from cricket or the nation but a step towards evolving personally and professionally.’
Expressing his gratitude to CAN, Lamichhane said that CAN played a significant role in advancing his cricketing career and Nepali cricket, and that his loyalty to the national team and passion for cricket would never diminish and said that he will continue to play for Nepal with the same passion and dedication.
Meanwhile, CAN spokesperson Chhumbi Lama shared that Lamichhane had already communicated CAN about the matter. He said that CAN will discuss the matter and make a decision public soon.
Under the central contract of CAN, Lamichhane has been included in Category ‘A’, drawing a monthly remuneration of 100 thousand rupees.
