Central Security Committee decides to step up surveillance in border areas and airports

Kathmandu: The meeting of the Central Security Committee has convened today in the chairmanship of Minister for Home Affairs, Ramesh Lekhak.

The meeting dwelt on recent developments following the eruption of conflict between India and Pakistan and the potential impacts of the situation on Nepal and matters related to internal security.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the meeting decided to scale up surveillance in sensitive areas such as Nepal-India border areas and airports. Spokesperson Ramchandra Tiwari said keeping security apparatus on high alert is one of the major decisions of the meeting.

Matters relating to the security of the Nepalis residing in India and Pakistan in the wake of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan were so discussed in the meeting, he informed.
