President Paudel inaugurates Rastrakavi Park in Lamjung

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel today inaugurated the Rastrakavi Madhav Ghimire Park at Pustun Bahundanda in Marsyangdi rural municipality-6, Lamjung.

On the occasion, he also unveiled a statue of prominent poet and literary figure, Madhav Ghimire, at his birthplace. During his visit, the President held interactions with residents.

According to Loknath Ghimire, Chairperson of the Rastrakavi Madhav Ghimire Foundation and Park Construction Consumer Committee, the park and statue were constructed with financial contributions from multiple sources: Rs two million from the Gandaki Province’s Ministry of Tourism, Rs 400,000 from the Ministry of Social Development, and Rs 300,000 from the local government.

Madhav Prasad Ghimire, a celebrated figure in Nepali literature, was born on Asoj 7, 1976 BS, and passed away on Bhadra 2, 2077 BS (August 18, 2020), at the age of 101.
