PM Oli urges UML lawmakers to confidently endorse govt policies and programmes

Kathmandu, May 3: Prime Minister and CPN (UML) parliamentary party leader KP Sharma Oli instructed his party lawmakers to firmly support the recently unveiled government’s annual policies and programmes.

President Ramchandra Paudel had presented the annual policies and programmes in the joint session of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly yesterday.

During the UML parliamentary party meeting today, PM Oli directed his party’s parliamentarians for firm support and endorsement of the policies and programmes, according to the PM’s personal secretariat.

The annual policies and programmes were aimed at ensuring political stability, economic development and maintaining good governance in line with the government’s ambition, PM Oli reassured that the policies and programmes are accurate.

“We should always firmly stand for what is right. We had not opposed right ones even while we were in opposition,” he reminded.

Oli highlighted the ideological unity within his party and said, “We have clarity and determination. I am confident that these attributes will be reflected  more effectively in the parliamentary proceedings.” He reiterated the government’s goal of uplifting the backward communities and maintaining foreign relations with national and humanitarian interest in centre, according to the PM Secretariat.

He further claimed that the recently presented annual policies and programmes were responsible towards the society, committed to peace and order, accountable towards the general public and constitutionally cooperative towards opposition.

Likewise, Deputy General-Secretary of UML as well as PM’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal and Economic Development Advisor to the PM, Dr Yuwaraj Khatiwada, are scheduled to present their views on the contemporary issues as well as challenges and opportunities for country’s economic advancement.

Thereafter, the UML lawmakers will engage in a deliberation on the government annual policies and programmes, it was stated.
