We are visiting grassroots people to strengthen party: Prachanda
Banke, April 27: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that his party leadership has reached the grassroots level to strengthen the party organization.
Addressing a mass meeting organized at Phattepur of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality in Banke as part of the party’s Tarai-Madhes Awakening Campaign, the Maoist Centre Chairman argued that such a move of the party was successful in establishing a robust bond with the people and taking stock of their issues.
Prachanda said that the campaign was instrumental in sharing the performance of his government for social justice and good governance. Likewise, he made some commitments to work for the development of the Rapti Sonari area, adding that he would make efforts to ensure road access, and health posts, and control the inundation of the Rapti River.
The Maoist Centre Chairman on Sunday made an on-site visit to the area affected by the inundation in the Rapti Sonari area and added that the local communities there should be safeguarded from the terror of inundation of the river.
Prachanda also instructed the Chief of the Embankment Construction Project to expedite the embankment development tasks for risk reduction. On the occasion, Maoist Centre leaders Maheshwor Gahatraj, Purna Kumari Subedi, Krishna KC and Ram Lakhan Tharu informed the Maoist Centre Chairman about the inundation, flood and other problems of the area.
