NC suggested to prioritize policies for investment friendly environment
Kathmandu: The Nepal Chamber of Commerce has suggested that the ruling Nepali Congress (NC) give priority to investment investment-friendly environment and production-focused policies in the annual budget of the upcoming fiscal year.
At a programme organised by the NC’s Industry and Trade Department about the formulation of the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, the Chamber submitted the recommendations along with the challenges and reform measures in the areas of industry and commerce.
The Acting President of the Chamber, Dipak Kumar Malhotra, handed over the recommendations to NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The recommendation includes policy coordination for creating an investment-friendly environment in the country and has stated that the private sector’s economic risk-bearing capacity was too low, which has obstructed them from taking loans from banks and financial institutions to begin new enterprises.
The Chamber has also sought business-friendly policies in the real estate sector in the new budget. Likewise, it said that an investment-friendly environment and the implementation of production-focused, practical policies should be in place to reduce dependency on agriculture.
