‘Himali Sambad’ being held in Jumla today

 

Jumla, April 22: The Himali Sambad (Himalayan dialogue) is commencing at Khalanga bazaar of Jumla district today.

All preparations for the event have been over. Chief of the dialogue organizing committee, Govind Bahadur Shahi, informed that the dialogue was being organized to raise the issues facing the Himalayan region at the local, provincial, federal and international levels.

Information about it was shared at a press meeting on Monday. Shahi, who is also the executive director of Karnali Integrated Rural Development and Research Centre, informed that youths from eight out of 10 districts in Karnali Province would be attending the program.

“Youths, children and marginalized communities will have participation in the dialogue that dwells on pressing issues of the Himalayan region like environmental degradation, snow melt, biodiversity loss, and adverse impact on locals,” he informed.

The Centre further informed that in addition to youths, the dialogue would have the participation of environmental experts, policymakers, representatives from the Himalayan region, journalists, social campaigners, and representatives from national and international NGOs, development partners, and government officials totaling 150.
