Kuwait clinches Quadrangular T20I Series Championship title
Kathmandu, April 13: Kuwait has won the Quadrangular T20I series held in Hong Kong. Kuwait defeated Nepal by three runs in the final to clinch the title today.
Chasing the target of 175 runs set by Kuwait, Nepal were restricted to 171 runs losing all wickets in 19.3 overs. For Nepal, Bashir Ahmed scored 80 runs in 43 balls with the help of eight fours and four sixes.
No other Nepali players except Nandan Yadav (37) and Asif Sheikh (21) could score runs in the double digits.
For Kuwait, Anudeep Chenthamara took the highest three wickets. Yasin Patel and Naveenraj Rajendran took two wickets each, while Mohamed Shafeeq and Mohammad Aslam took one wicket each.
Invited to bat first after losing the toss at the Tin Kwang Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong, Kuwait scored 174 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.
Ravija Sandaruwan scored a half-century for Kuwait. He hit the highest 63 runs including six fours and four sixes off 36 balls.
Usman Patel (23), Meet Bhavsar (16) and Mohammad Aslam (13) also chipped in. None of the other players could score double digit runs.
Sompal Kami and Nandan Yadav took two wickets each while Karan KC and Kushal Bhurtel took one wicket each for Nepal.
