Government working to boost the morale of private sector: Finance Minister Poudel
Lumbini: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the current government is working to boost the morale of the private sector.
In a discussion and interaction with private sector entrepreneurs in Rupandehi today regarding the budget and revenue policy for the fiscal year 2082/83, he said that after the formation of the current government initiatives have been taken to resolve the problems of the private sector by amending 29 laws related to the private sector at once through an ordinance.
The government’s objective is to create a private sector-friendly environment, and the law has been amended as part of that effort, he said.
On the occasion, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Lumbini President Tanka Prasad Pokharel complained that temporary border checkpoints used in past blockades are currently operating as if they were legal and that smuggling is increasing through these checkpoints.
He suggested abolishing structures that confuse industrialists and businesspersons when they go to government agencies for services and establishing a mechanism whereby they can get services through a one-door policy.
Confederation of Nepalese Industries Lumbini President Ejaz Alam, Rupandehi Industry Association President Dilip Sapkota and others suggested that the budget, policies and programs brought by the government should be industry and business-friendly.
They emphasized on solving the problem of trunk lines and dedicated feeder users that have been entangled for a long time.
