Prime Minister Oli holds meeting with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Amarasuriya
April 3, Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of Nepal met with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya today on the sidelines of the Sixth Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in Bangkok. The meeting took place as part of PM Oli’s engagements during his official visit to Thailand and participation in the regional summit.
Having completed the official programs of his Thailand visit, Prime Minister Oli has been actively engaging in sideline meetings with heads of state and government from BIMSTEC member countries.
The discussion with Dr. Amarasuriya focused on bilateral relations and various issues of mutual interest between Nepal and Sri Lanka.
The meeting was attended by key Nepali officials, including Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, among others. The talks underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthen their ties and explore opportunities for collaboration.
PM Oli’s schedule in Bangkok remains packed as he continues to represent Nepal at the BIMSTEC Summit, fostering regional cooperation and bilateral dialogues with leaders from the Bay of Bengal region.
