Govt to recommend prorogation of parliament session
Kathmandu, April 1: The government has decided to recommend to the President that the current session of the federal parliament (House of Representatives and National Assembly) be prorogued, effective from midnight tonight (April 1).
The meeting of the Council of Ministers was held on Monday evening decided in this regard, according to the government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung.
The current session of the parliament had begun on January 31.
The President has the right to summon and prorogue the session of any or both parliament as per the constitution.
