PM Oli stresses on building strong structures using modern technology

Patan (Lalitpur): Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stressed the need to pay attention to the construction of strong structures through the use of modern technology.

On the occasion of the 10th National Convention of Progressive Engineers Association Nepal (PEAN) organized here today, Prime Minister Oli laid emphasis that engineers should pay attention to building strong structures. He further said that engineers should understand the geographical condition of our country and pay attention to building safe structures, keeping such things in mind.

Asking the engineers to suggest if there were legal complexities, the Prime Minister said the government would pay attention to address them. He stressed that the role of the opposition parties should be constructive and positive, mentioning that the incumbent government was active in materializing the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’.

Minister further said the development construction had taken a pace in the country after the political change in 1991 and the earthquake had caused massive destruction during his election to the post of Prime Minister in 2015; and reconstruction activities were carried out under the slogan ‘Build Better’.

Development is not possible without development of infrastructures. Infrastructure development creates a market and promotes infrastructure. Thanks to the contribution of engineers for building strong structures. I want to appreciate it,’ he argued.

PM Oli emphasized that instead of worrying about Nepali students going abroad for study, environment should be given for the education system to create opportunities with openness that promote entrepreneurship and advanced education in Nepal.

Similarly, Chairperson of PEAN, Engineer Dr Suraj Lamichhane said the organization established as ‘Engineering Study Group’ in 20,47 BS is now active as a people’s class organization of the CPN (UML). He added that the PEAN’s policy is to provide technical support to the party and support it in making technology-friendly policy.
