International Day of Happiness today!
March 20, Kathmandu: Today is International Day of Happiness. Various programs are being held to mark the occasion in the country and abroad.
The UN General Assembly declared March 20 as the International Day of Happiness on July 12, 2012, following Bhutan’s initiative.
Bhutan has prioritized gross national happiness over gross national income since the 1970s. The day aims to highlight the importance of happiness and well-being globally.
It’s also French Language Day today. The UN celebrates six language days: French, Arabic, Chinese, English, Russian, and Spanish. French Language Day began on March 20, 1970, marking the creation of the Agency for Cultural and Technical Cooperation.
