National Assembly meeting starts

Kathmandu, March 17: Today’s meeting of the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament, has commenced.

In today’s meeting, the Chairperson of the Legislation Management Committee, Tulsa Kumari Dahal, is scheduled to present the Committee’s report on the ‘Banking Offences and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080 BS.’

Similarly, the Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Bidya Bhattarai, is scheduled to present a proposal to send the National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2081 BS, to the Legislation Management Committee for clause-wise discussion.

Education Minister Bhattarai is also scheduled to present a proposal to discuss the Tilganga Ophthalmological University Bill, 2081 BS, along with the report of the Legislation Management Committee.

A proposal for the passage of the bill will also be presented in today’s meeting of the National Assembly, according to the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
