CAN releases new central contract for national players
Kathmandu: The Cricket Association of Nepal has released new central contracts for Nepali cricketers—both male and female representing the country through the national team.
AS per the list published by CAN on Wednesday, five male players have been selected in ‘A’ grade, five in ‘B’ grade, four in ‘C’ grade, 12 in ‘D’ grade and seven as emerging players.
Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, Dipendra Singh Aire, Saneep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami and Ashif Sheikh are in ‘A’ grade. They would get Rs 100,000 each monthly.
Similarly, Karan KC, Kushal Bhurtel, Gulshan Jha, Lalit Rajbanshi and Anil Sah are in ‘B’ grade and each of them would receive Rs 70,000 monthly.
Sandeep Jora, Arif Sheikh, Bhim Sarki and Kushal Malla have been listed in ‘C’ grade. They will get Rs 55,000.
Likewise, Sagar Dhakal, Lokesh Bam, Sahab Alam, Akash Chand, Bibek Yadav, Surya Tamang, Rijan Dhakal, Dev Khanal, Basir Ahmed, Pratish GC, Abhinash Bohara and Mayan Yadav are in ‘D’ grade and they would receive RS 35,000.
Arjun Gharti, Hemant Dhami, Dipesh Kandel, Rupesh Singh, Arjun Kumal, Shubh Kanshakar and Santosh Yadav are emerging players. They would receive Rs 25,000 monthly.
As per the new contract, four female players are included in ‘A’ grade. They are Captain Indu Berma, Rubina Chhetri, Sita Rana Magar and Puja Mahato and they would get Rs 50,000 monthly.
Similarly, Kabita Joshi is in ‘B’ grade and she would receive Rs 35,000. Kabita Kunwar and Samjhana Khadka have been listed in ‘C’ grade while Bindu Rawal, Alisha Kumari Yadav, Riya Sharma, Sana Prabin, Simana KC, Sabitri Dhami, Roma Thapa, Ishwori Bista, Krishma Gurung, Jyantika Marasini, Rachana Kumari Chaudhary and Manish Kumari Upadhyay in ‘D’ grade.
The players included in ‘C’ grade and ‘D’ grade would receive monthly allowance of RS 25,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively.
The contract will remain in effect for the next six months and a new central contract would be made thereafter on the basis of their performance, the CAN has said.
