Maintaining good governance first priority: Communications Minister Gurung

Gandaki: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has said that the government’s key priority was to ensure effectiveness of public service delivery and good governance promotion.

Inaugurating the Third National Conference of Lions International District 325 in Pokhara on Saturday, Minister Gurung argued that the government introduced six ordinances in the recent past for good governance promotion and effective public service delivery.

Minister Gurung, also the government spokesperson, shared that the government is preparing to amend 12 different laws to make public service delivery effective and prompt.

Saying that Nepal has already entered the democratic system by ending the 240-year-long feudalistic system, Minister Gurung mentioned that sovereign people hold the regime power in the present context. He added that further reforms were needed in the current political system.

On the occasion, Minister Gurung lauded the efforts made by the Lions Club in the country’s social service sector.
