Nepal-Japan trade ties blossoming like Sakura: PM Oli

February 28, Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli hailed the growing bond between Nepal and Japan, spotlighting the success of the third Nepal-Japan Friendship Summit 2025, which wraps up on Friday. Speaking at his Baluwatar residence during a meeting with a Japanese delegation and Nepali coordinators, PM Oli emphasized how the relationship has evolved beyond goodwill into thriving import-export exchanges.

“Nepalis are working in Japan, our buckwheat has found a home there, and Japan’s trout is now swimming into Nepal,” PM Oli remarked, underscoring the deepening people-to-people connections. “This friendship is pure, untainted by disputes, and blooming like sakura blossoms.”

The Prime Minister praised Japan as a beacon of peace-driven progress, contrasting its achievements with the devastation of conflict. He reaffirmed Nepal’s dedication to fostering global harmony, aligning with the summit’s spirit. Held from February 26 to 28, the event—organized by LeadX Nepal and Fourth Valley under Idea Studio Nepal—celebrated over a decade of promoting entrepreneurship and business collaboration.

As the summit concludes on Friday, PM Oli expressed optimism that these ties would continue to flourish, strengthening both nations economically and culturally
