Everyone’s involvement necessary for nation-building: DPM Singh
Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakashman Singh has emphasized collective efforts for nation-building.
At a programme organized by the Mansalu World School here today, DPM Singh stressed time and collective efforts for nation-building, citing the present developed countries which, he argued, took years to attain today’s developed status.
Stating that the campaign to make Nepal a prosperous nation was moving forward, the DPM mentioned that it would require some time and active participation from all Nepalis to achieve success. He asserted that the narrative ‘(governance) system got changed but the situation remains the same’ was intentionally coined and claimed that ‘huge’ progress was made in all sectors since the establishment of democracy in the country.
Addressing the challenges of brain-drain among youths leaving abroad for further studies, he urged the youths to seek and pursue opportunities within the country. Stating that success was unattainable without hard work and dedication, he suggested the students to be diligent in their studies.
According to him, opportunities were aplenty within the country and thus we need to develop a mindset to tap them. The DPM viewed, ‘Quality education alone is not everything. Focus on overall personality development. Ability alone is not enough. It takes hard work and discipline to manifest success.’
On the occasion, DPM Singh honoured various personalities in recognition of their contributions. He feted social worker Anuradha Koirala, actor Rajesh Hamal, national football player Kiran Chemjong, educationist Balchandra Devkota and journalist Rajendra Baniya with a certificate of appreciation.
