Deputy Prime Minister Poudel and Pokhara Metropolis Mayor Acharya brought to Kathmandu for further treatment

Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel and Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, who were injured when a balloon burst in flames during the inauguration of Pokhara Visit Year 2025, have been brought to Kathmandu for further treatment.

While the balloon was being released after lighting the lamp using remote, the flame caught on the balloon and caused it to burst. Finance Minister Poudel and Mayor Acharya were injured due to the balloon fire.

Finance Minister Poudel was taken to Gandaki Medical College Teaching Hospital for treatment and then to a hospital in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, for further treatment, informed Nepal Communist Party (UML) Kaski chairperson Bain Bahadur Adhikari Chhetri.

It is reported that Minister Poudel suffered injuries to both his hands, face and neck.

Similarly, Metropolitan City Mayor Acharya was taken to Fistel Hospital for treatment and has been brought to Kathmandu for further treatment, informed his press coordinator Bhim Thapa. Metropolitan Mayor Acharya has suffered injuries to his face and cheek.
