Ministry of Health set to launch free screening campaign for non-communicable diseases

Free screening campaign is starting from tomorrow till mid-March

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Health and Population is set to launch a month-long free screening campaign for non-communicable diseases, starting tomorrow and running through mid-March.

This initiative follows the announcement by the Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Poudel.
Minister Poudel approved the directive in December 2024, with the ministry launching the campaign immediately afterwards.

The initiative aims to identify diseases early and ensure timely treatment.

Likewise, Minister Poudel emphasized the importance of preventive measures to protect citizens from illness, stating that the campaign will help break disease cycles and save both health and financial resources for individuals and the state.

The goal is to cover more than 10 million people, offering free screenings at local health centres for conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity.
