PM Oli pledges return of encroached land in Kohalpur
Kathmandu, Feb 9: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was alerted to the land-grabbing at Kohalpur municipality-11 in Banke district.
A delegation comprising federal parliamentarian Surya Prasad Dhakal, Kohalpur municipality Mayor Purna Prasad Acharya, and representatives of the political parties called on the PM on Sunday for his positive intervention into the matter.
Around 28 bighas of land surrounding the cricket ground in Kohalpur and owned by the Kohalpur Town Development Committee has been invaded, the delegation apprised PM Oli, urging him to help them regain the encroached land.
Although the Ministry of Home Affairs, based on the request made by an all-party meeting in the district, had issued a notice to remove all illegal structures on the encroached land, the encroachers flatly ignored the notice; the delegation updated the PM.
PM Oli, in response, cautioned that nobody can encroach on or misuse the public property. He assured the visiting delegation the return of the encroached land at any cost. —RSS
