Women’s T20 International Tri-Series: Nepal loses to Thailand

Kathmandu: Nepal faced a four-wicket defeat against Thailand in the second match held under the Women’s T20 International Tri-Series today. During the match held at Kirtipur-based Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Thailand won the match by four wickets.

Winning the toss, Captain Indu Barma decided to bat first. The Nepali Women’s Cricket team gathered 101 runs in the allotted 20 overs. For Nepal, Kabita Kunwar made 25 runs in 32 balls while Captain Indu Barma 15 runs in 25 balls. Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong took three wickets, Phannita Maya and Nattaya Boochatham two wickets each and Chanida Sutthiruang one wicket.

Thailand chased a 102-run victory target in 19 overs at the loss of six wickets. Nannapat Koncharoenkai contributed the highest 60 runs (not out) in 58 balls, Suwanan Khiaoto 14 runs and Captain Naruemol Chaiwai 13 runs. Towards bowling, Manisha Upadhyay took two wickets while Kabita Kunwar, Rubina Chhetri and Kabita Joshi one wicket each.

Earlier, Nepal faced a 20-run defeat against the Netherlands in the first match while Thailand won the match against the Netherlands by eight wickets in its first match.
