PSB Nepal to move forward with international norms and national needs: Dr. Bista

Kathmandu, Jan 30: Executive Chairperson of Public Service Broadcasting Nepal (PSB Nepal), Dr. Mahendra Bista has stated that PSB Nepal will operate in line with international norms and national needs.

Speaking to RSS on the occasion of Nepal Television (NTV)’s anniversary, Dr. Bista noted that NTV, now under PSB Nepal, was established in 1985 as a new step in Nepal’s broadcasting sector.

He highlighted that PSB Nepal will focus on political neutrality and independence from business interests.

Dr Bista added that over the years, NTV expanded its scope, contributing to democracy, national unity, and public awareness. He reiterated that PSB Nepal will prioritize national unity, disaster response, and prosperity.

The organization plans to adopt a ‘hybrid model’ for financial sustainability and integrate radio, television, and digital platforms.

Dr. Bista also announced plans to launch NTV World to enhance Nepal’s presence in global media.

He urged PSB Nepal employees to adapt to changes and called on stakeholders to support the institution’s role in strengthening national unity.
