Nepal Art Expo kicks off

Kathmandu, Jan 24: The Nepal Art Expo incorporating the artworks of 119 artists from 14 countries has kicked off in Kathmandu at the Nepal Art Council, Babarmahal.

The expo will run for three days. Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Narad Mani Hartamchhali said the art exhibition will facilitate the exchange of art and culture among various countries and the artists will also get an opportunity to learn.

Seventy Nepali artists are participating in the event organized by NSG International Artists Group.

Besides Nepal, the creations of artists from Bangladesh, India, France, Britain, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mexico, Argentina, Uzbekistan, Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Austria are on display.

A workshop on traditional Nepali art is scheduled for today as part of the Expo.

Expo’s Nepal representative Sushma Shrestha said the workshop will be useful for the artists to learn more about traditional Nepali art.
